The Stories Trees Tell

Traveling with five animal friends, the reader is introduced to trees that have unusual, magical shapes. The animals and the reader then use their vivid imaginations to predict what might have happened to the trees to give them these unnatural shapes. The trees then tell their own true stories of what happened to them. Photographs of these trees accompany the illustrations. Information about trees, from seeds to pollination to fruit, fills the margins of each page. The final section of the book in entitled Befriending A Tree, and it contains activities and projects for the readers to do as they become dendrologists or tree scientists.
