The narrator enjoyed swimming and scuba diving off the Florida coast. On that day the sea was as smooth as glass and he could see bottom about eighty feet under the boat. It was during his second dive that the narrator encountered three dolphins and learned later that the baby dolphin was ensnared in a net. The narrator tried to help the injured dolphin by pulling the hook out of the dolphin. After minutes of struggle, the narrator pulled the hook out of the dolphin as the parents waited patiently.
