The Colourstrings Singing Rascals books form the first steps in learning music using the Kodály child centred approach developed by Géza Szilvay. The songs in the book use simple tunes designed to help children learn pentatonic sol-fa. These tunes are repeated right through the stages of learning an instrument giving the children instant familiarity with the songs.
