Life for Pete, the band's finest drummer, rolls smoothly along until total disaster strikes during the big town parade. Pete loses his beat! Ordered out of the ranks, Pete hits the road to rediscover his rhythm. Along the way he jams with an old sax man named Gus, whose jazzy jingle helps Pete get back on beat. Joe Keylon's magnificent illustrations playfully harmonize with Stephanie Bloom's vibrant verse to create a moving, musical journey that inspires "drummers" of all ages to march to the beat in their hearts.
